Central Alabama Paranormal Investigations wishes for you great health, happiness, love and prosperity in 2020.
After a brief hiatus to spend the holidays with our families, CAPI is back with so much to share with you. Our Patreon is up for anyone who likes our content, our views and who wants to support us. We have so many things to share with our supporters. Exclusive shows with all the team members, live investigations and so much more. We hope that you join and are a part of the special events, discounts and many other offers we have for you. You can find our Patreon link at the bottom of our home page.
We have road trips planned this year which will be so much fun and full of interesting and historical places. We have something extremely special to share with you but not just yet. Some of us are busting at the seams to tell you but we have to keep it under wraps for the time being. Johnny alluded to it once on the first CAPI Live this season but stopped short of announcing it. We are extremely happy where CAPI is going and so very thankful to you for helping us get there.
Our first CAPI Live this season was a great show. Psychic Chris Garcia joined Johnny to continue his topic on Psychic Mediums. Chris and Johnny had such a connection with each other, CAPI plans to meet up him on our first road trip to San Antonio Texas in late Spring/early Summer. You never know, Chris may help us with a few investigations along the way. You can find Psychic Chris on Facebook at Psychic Chris Garcia. We plan to have more special guests this year on our CAPI Live.
Thank you guys for being patient with me while I was dealing with family issues and delayed the CAPI Book Club. Our first online meet up will be Thursday Evening, February 6th, at 6pm (time may change but I will let you know) where we will discuss the first few chapters of Gerald Brittle’s book, The Demonologist – The Extraordinary Career of Ed & Lorraine Warren. You still have time to sign up for the book club. Just email me at bharris.CAPI@gmail.com. By purchasing the book on our website at https://capiparanormal.com/books/ you are supporting CAPI. It will be fun! I hope you join.
Founder’s Note
Johnny Rushing, Founder and Lead Investigator
I want to start this article off with wishing everyone a Happy New Year & Hopes for a great 2020!
In recent articles we’ve talked about what the Paranormal means, it’s relationship to life, religion & science & the different aspects of the subject as a whole. In this article, I want to talk about Why we investigate the Paranormal. Why we, as Paranormal Investigators, do what we do.
For me, it was the draw. I was eight years old when I first experienced something that I, as a young child, knew was not normal. Oh, before you ask, I don’t talk about this event in detail. Not really sure why. Most Paranormalist don’t talk about their first experience. I guess this is just something that we keep as our own. As I watched this incident unfold, I thought of fear, intrigue, life and started to question everything that I thought I knew about death and what happens after we pass on. Starting that moment, I began researching, learning and investigating the Paranormal. I think it is the same for most that decide to delve into this, “pseudoscience” we call Paranormal.
Once you start onto this path, you get hooked. You are always chasing that next big piece of evidence. Always looking for that next exciting experience. Wanting to be the one that tells the story of what happened last night, at the investigations. It’s exciting, it’s boring. Most will agree, it can be akin-ed to hunting. You may go into the woods, looking for that trophy kill, 99 times and get nothing. Then, that 100th day, you bag that monster 16pt buck. You may go on 99 investigations and get nothing but discouraged and broke. Then, on that 100th time, you get all kinds of evidence, personal experiences…ect…ect.
The draw of the investigation has also lured some famous names to it’s list of investigators. Abraham Lincoln & his wife investigated the Paranormal. They are the only recorded investigators to ever investigate the White House! Ed & Lorraine Warren, Mary Rose Barrington, J.B.Rhine & Guy Lyon Playfair, are just some of the many well known investigators in the Paranormal research field. So if you decide that you want to give the Paranormal a try, you will be among a great, kind, understanding, open minded bunch of crazy people!

Italian Sausage Hoogie
Johnny Rushing, Founder
You will need:
2 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
16 oz. ground beef or pork
1 16-oz. package Premio Sweet Italian Sausage, removed from casings
4 tbsp. garlic, minced
4 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. sea salt
1 1/2 tsp. fresh ground black pepper
1 15 oz. can tomato sauce
2 tbsp. spicy brown mustard
4 tsp. light brown sugar
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
8 hot dog buns
1 package sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
1 medium red or yellow onion, chopped finely
To Prepare:
1. Place extra virgin olive oil into a large skillet and heat over medium-high heat for 1 minute.
2. Add ground beef or pork to the skillet and cook over medium-high heat for 6-8 minutes. Break apart during cooking using a heavy-duty spoon or spatula. Continue cooking until the meat is brown and no pink remains.
3. Add minced garlic, chili powder, sea salt and ground black pepper to cooked beef or pork. Cook for 2 minutes to blend flavors.
4. Add tomato sauce, spicy brown mustard, brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce to the cooked mixture. Reduce heat to low-medium and simmer for about 5-8 minutes until tomato sauce is reduced by about a third. Remove the ground meat chili from heat and allow to sit.
5. Preheat grill to medium setting.
6. Grill the Premio Sweet Italian Sausage for about 5-7 minutes or until reaching a minimum internal temperature of 160° F. Remove sausages from grill or place in a cooler spot on the grill.
7. Grill the inside of the hot dog buns
8. Place grilled hot dog buns on plates and put one sausage inside each grilled hot dog bun. Top the sausages with ground meat chili. Finish off each sausage chili sandwich with a sprinkling of sharp cheddar cheese and finely chopped onion pieces.
